BBQ for Heroes
Support is Key
Regardless of your views of the rights and wrongs of armed conflict, our armed forces do a tremendous job whenever they are asked to perform services for their country. Unfortunately, this has tremendous risks associated with it, which does result in life-changing injuries.
The Help the Heroes charity does a great job providing support and recovery services for injured service personnel. They have a vast network of professionals and partners. They help serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and support families through physical and emotional rehabilitation and recovery, identifying new career opportunities as well as offering financial and welfare support.
How you can Help
Summer is traditionally the time where us Brits get the BBQ out. As you know I think it should be a year-round activity but I also appreciate that will not be for everyone.
When we get the BBQ out that often signifies a time where we will invite friends and family over. Help the Heroes have in the past had focussed weeks for members of the public to fundraise by running a BBQ event. There is currently no specific weeks planned but they have packs available for you to run an event whenever it suits you.
So if you having some friends and family over for a BBQ why not think about making it a charity event and raising a few pounds to help out fantastic Armed Forces?
Whatever the size of your BBQ for Heroes your fundraising efforts will make a real and immediate difference to the wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel and Veterans Help for Heroes supports.
