Time for a Cocktail

Last May I saw Pritesh Mody appear on Sunday Brunch, making 3 cocktails. One of them was Mezcal Margarita, but what turned my head was the description of this being a smoky cocktail. I am always on the lookout for new drinks. I tend to drink lager or wine, with an occasional bourbon. I also enjoy a Rum or Whiskey Old Fashioned, but this Mezcal Margarita sounded great and something that would be great with BBQ food.

It had to happen!!

Putting it Together

I have tried to make cocktails before, with mixed degrees of success. The idea of making my own cocktails always sounds great but it never quite turns out as good as the ones you buy in a bar. I have tried Mojitos, Old Fashioned, and Whiskey Sours but I’m never that impressed with my efforts. However, the ingredients and method for the Mezcal Margarita are straightforward. It’s a case of adding the correct quantities to a cocktail shaker, giving them a good shake, and pouring. Simple!!!!

The Verdict

Let’s just say this is one of my favourite drinks. Whether you decide to have one with a BBQ or just as an evening cocktail you will love it. There is a distinct smokiness about the drink, and I find it quite refreshing. Definitely, one you should give a go!!!

A huge thank you to Pritesh who gave me permission to write this up for the site.  Check out @luvfoodluvdrink on Instagram – there are some amazing drink concoctions you’ll be tempted to give a try.
